Haz Mat Incident / MCI - Mountaire Poultry

Selbyville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a possible gas leak, with a medical response requested. 88 Command (Deputy Lathbury)initiated a hazardous material response, requesting multiple agency ambulances, SCEMS and SCEMS Haz-Med, and DNREC. The incident was found to be a carbon dioxide leak that was contained and repaired. A MCI had been declared, with several patients evaluated and transported in addition to those evaluated, treated and released back to the scene.
